As the visionaries behind Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Clusterfest, the Superfly team is a creative and dedicated group of storytellers, content creators, strategists, and experience builders. Our Superfly Internship Program provides an invaluable hands-on experience for those who want to work alongside a passionate group in a creative, fast-paced, and innovative atmosphere. Forget about coffee runs -- our interns learn the ins and outs of business development, influencer marketing, sponsorship, communications, brand marketing, programming, and more.
The Summer 2021 Remote internship cycle will take place from mid June 2021 through end of August 2021.
About our Virtual Internship Program:
This is a paid educational internship. As an intern, you’ll gain experience unparalleled in the classroom. We provide interns with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through hands-on application. Working closely with their supervisor, interns explore their career field of interest, acquire new skills, and develop transferable skills.
Each intern reports to a Superfly division who will select team members to provide hands-on training, oversight, and mentorship. Your internship benefits include gaining experience unparalleled in the classroom, exploration in a career field of interest, acquiring new skills and developing transferable skills for resume building, and establishing vital career networks and mentors.
Eligible candidates must either be enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university.
As a Superfly intern, you'll learn and be a part of:
Participating in brainstorms and team collaborations
Researching the web and publications for relevant news to share with the team
Organizing and archiving files, footage and Superfly contacts
Attending meetings and distributing notes to different teams
Working with database managers to ensure data input accuracy
Assisting with administrative tasks for all departments
Our Fall 2020 Virtual Internships will include opportunities on the following teams:
Agency
Our agency team is led by co-founder Rich Goodstone and is made up of relationship builders who manage day-to-day communication and workflow for brands, while also being responsible for brand activations and sponsorships management at Superfly's virtual events and festivals. The intern’s role will be to assist with project management, working with internal teams, clients, vendors, and sponsors as needed to ensure activations are executed smoothly.
This intern will learn about everything that goes into a client activation, from ideation to execution. Interest in a career within the marketing industry is a plus!
Superfly X
The Superfly X team is led by co-founder Jon Mayers and is responsible for developing activations and events from the ground up. The intern’s role will be focused on assisting project management and execution of branded activations such as the Friends Pop-Up in New York, Boston and Chicago. They will also contribute in research and outreach while helping manage venues, event staff, vendors and service providers as needed.
The Superfly X intern will work with the team in all facets of what it takes to bring a vision to life including (but not limited to) budgeting, creation of client decks, credentials & ticketing, sourcing of decor, janitorial, permitting, production schedules, site layouts, security, stage production, talent relations, venue relations, & more!
Vertical IP (New Business)
Our Vertical IP team is led by co-founder Rick Farman and primarily West Coast based. The intern’s role will be to assist in identifying partnerships and brands that look to Superfly to help them impact culture. The team is responsible for determining Superfly’s next strategic move, whether that’s investing in a next gen music start up or partnering with one that will better the Superfly brand. This intern may also work closely with our Agency team in developing client deliverables for active business.
Ideal candidates would be immersed in the world of creative brands, with major bonus points for experience with social media, marketing, partnerships, sports, cannabis, music and technology.
M.L.B.E (Music Location-Based Entertainment)
The M.L.B.E team is led by co-founder Kerry Black and is responsible for developing music activations and events from the ground up. These brick and mortar spaces will celebrate the legacies of popular artists as a part of Superfy’s overall music strategy moving forward.
The intern’s role will be to assist the team in all facets of what it takes to bring a artist’s vision to life including (but not limited to) budgeting, creation of client decks, credentials & ticketing, sourcing of decor, janitorial, permitting, production schedules, site layouts, security, stage production, talent relations, venue relations, & more!
Ideal candidates would be enthusiastic and immersed in the world of music activations, with the caveat of learning how to develop them for a post-pandemic world.
