Job Purpose
Do you live and breathe politics in Wiltshire? Can you explain the difference between a borough or a parish? Or decipher and bundle of council papers and find that golden nugget of a story? Or be able to tell our audiences how decisions in County Hall directly link to their lives? If so, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities
We have a hugely exciting role as politics reporter in Wiltshire. You’ll tell stories across platforms for the BBC in Wiltshire with the opportunity for those stories to make a national impact. You’ll bring those stories to life in a compelling, engaging way on the BBC News website and on our social channels, on BBC Radio Wiltshire and on TV on Points West and Politics West.
Your stories will make politics simple and easy to understand. You’ll be as comfortable explaining budgets as talking about potholes. You’ll be able to explain the good things politicians do as well as holding them to account if it goes wrong.
