Integrated Marketing is made up of passionate, highly skilled team members who are responsible for providing the overall marketing and branding strategy for Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA).
The Public Relations (PR) Manager will shape public perception of Yamaha by communicating purpose, initiatives, products and accomplishments. The PR Manager will have responsibility for the strategy, collaboration, execution and measurement of PR and media relations campaigns, with the goal of building and enhancing a favorable image of Yamaha with our customers, employees, potential candidates, influencers and the public at large.
Here's What You’ll Do
  • Increase awareness and develop an enviable brand image through effective communication and media relations programs
  • Clarify Yamaha’s point of view to its target audience
  • Observe social, economic, and political trends that might ultimately affect Yamaha, and enhance our image based on those trends
  • Partner with advertising, promotions, artist relations, and product/marketing managers to ensure that PR campaigns are compatible with the image that Yamaha is trying to portray
  • Field media questions
  • Pitch stories to the media
  • Prepare media kits
  • Organize press conferences and write press releases
  • Write speeches for organizational leaders
  • Develop advertising and marketing communications materials
  • Oversee internal communications such as company newsletters and other communication tools
  • Prepare articles for corporate newsletter
  • Provide information to counter negative publicity
  • Handle crisis and emergency communications
  • Build a strong media network
  • Budget responsibilities
  • Travel approximately 5-10% of the time
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations
  • Deep understanding of media needs and media relationships
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Ability to balance multiple concurrent projects with quick turn-around
  • Deadline driven
  • Responsive to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator and presenter
  • Self-starter with a positive and professional approach
