We are searching for a Product Specialist, Fender Electric Guitars and Basses based in Hollywood, CA to assist category management to oversee all elements of key Fender Electrics categories. The ideal candidate will need excellent project management skills, strong attention-to-detail and be extremely organized with exceptional people and presentation skills. In addition, this role will be collaborating with the overall product and cross-functional teams to help develop and execute the product line strategy to increase sales, market share, and profitability throughout the world.
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for aiding category management in the creation, execution and ownership of the product line and product plan to achieve strategic objectives and reach revenue goals
  • Support product program initiatives and execute plans in accordance with the product launch calendar
  • Oversees data management (pricing, part number creation, sales documents, product specifications, PIM database).
  • Responsible for managing Product Development inventory, including, shipping, tracking, storage, organization and movement of inventory.
  • Conducts product presentations for trade shows, videos and internal/dealer trainings.
  • Provides feedback and direction aimed at product lifecycle from ideation to EOL strategies.
  • Ability to travel to attend sales meetings, factory visits, media events and tradeshows.
  • Strong presentation and product demoing skills.
  • Collaborate with internal departments: engineering, sales, marketing and operations, to maximize product success.
  • Responsible for all guitar tech work for the group including but not limited to: re-stringing, setups, repairs, testing, pickup installs, wiring, etc.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or relevant field preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the music industry required; background in manufacturing, sales, marketing, guitar/repair tech and/or customer service preferred
  • A desire to create new and impactful products for the Fender family is a must.
  • Experience in inventory management and logistics a plus
  • Highly organized and comfortable multi-tasking in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with department and other functional divisions. Must be able to collaborate with multiple business owners and external partners
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • SAP knowledge a plus but not required
  • Travel may be required up to 20% (factory visits, consumer events, media events, trade shows, sales meetings, dealer training, etc.)
