Amazon Digital Music is looking for an experienced content acquisition executive to join our Content Acquisition Team. The executive will maintain and drive Amazon's relationships with key content partners. As the Principal Content Acquisition Manager will be responsible for developing content strategy, securing new content and additional rights, and performing competitive monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key content providers at decision-making level
  • Negotiating license agreements to secure content from content partners and expand existing agreements as needed
  • Collaborating with the legal team to review contractual terms and conditions relating to content licensing agreements
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape to help inform strategic planning
  • Performing content strategy analysis to ensure our customers have the broadest selection of content available, regardless of territory
  • Developing and analyzing business models for new content types

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in account management, business development, content licensing, or finance
  • 8+ years of experience negotiating license and/or business development agreements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of relevant business development or content acquisition experience within the music or digital service provider industries
  • 6+ year’s successful track record of negotiating complex licensing agreements
  • 6+ years’ experience developing business development or acquisition strategies
  • 3+ years’ experience using data to drive creative business development opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the music industry or other related digital content acquisition roles
  • A personal passion for music and digital media
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent data analysis, quantitative skills and ability to dive deep
  • Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • MBA or Juris Doctorate
