We are looking for an outstanding Channel Development Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a deep interest in podcasts and audio innovation with a proven record of working cross-functionally across teams to drive operational efficiency that leads to maximising revenue. This role will help drive podcast monetisation expansion globally by working in partnership with our sales, content, and operations teams. We are building the podcast business and you will be a partner for our sales team as they navigate selling our portfolio of podcasts.
What You'll Do:
  • Own the rollout of new markets ensuring revenue is rolled out effectively
  • Leverage New Market Framework to ensure market rollouts are fast, efficient and smooth and work cross functionally for launches of new shows and products
  • Aid in the strategy of new markets for Original & Exclusive new shows
  • Work with Channel Development department head to understand priorities and strategy needs (driving revenue, informing internal stakeholders, and driving studio partnership)
  • Work closely with the local Podcast Client Partners to help strategise how to maximise revenue across available inventory for podcast advertising sales market teams’
  • Manually track the rollout of new markets via objective, priority type, and outcome for enhanced learning as well as revenue support goals
  • Create a framework to ensure enablement and education across markets for various functions is handled appropriately across global AMs, market teams, business operation as it relates to process and positioning
  • Present framework to teams and ensure teams grasp knowledge needed to sell through effectively and deliver/execute on process and client needs in new market rollouts
  • Receive necessary updates from the Content team on new shows to position the shows appropriately for regional market needs
  • Create R+R clarity with content team on new shows positioning
  • Create periodic learning sessions to inform teams what has worked and what has not in terms of positioning and market rollouts
  • Create documentation playbook with steps and tasks as needed for resourcing tasks to different personnel as needed and to relay institutional knowledge
  • Create documentation of enablement collateral for various teams to have as a reference guide on selling O+E, positioning, and process
  • Work closely with internal teams on operations to ensure local podcasts are set up for monetisation
  • Partner internally with sales support, marketing and Spotify Studios teams to maximise revenue for Spotify and our partners

Requirements

  • You have 6+ years of experience in media with experience working with sales teams and business operations teams
  • Understanding of how to sell and position content and talent
  • You are operationally proficient and can dig into data and navigate multiple data sources to find solutions
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and are comfortable working across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • You have dexterity in creating reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, etc.
  • You have a deep understanding of the digital ecosystem
  • You are a team player, smart, adapt well with change and have a positive attitude
  • You are able to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment and are comfortable navigating ambiguity to drive and develop process
