Reporting to the Music Education Manager, the Music Education Curriculum Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, execution, quality control and advancement of all department education program content, curricula, and activity.
Purpose of Role
Education ensures that the educational experience of students in our programs is true to Yamaha educational philosophy and embodies our brand values and personality.
Key Accountabilities Include
Ensures curriculum is relevant and aligned with customer expectations Ensures that the quality of teaching is consistent across schools and between classes to meet or exceed Yamaha standards Creates delivery methods of curriculum and teacher training which meet customer needs and expectations Creates strategies to instill understanding of Yamaha educational philosophy and brand values in teachers Drives the adoption of new technology as necessary to enhance the learning experience Ensures successful vendor/external partner relationships are build and maintained
Primary Responsibilities Include
  • Participates in the creation of Business Cases to support and justifies the creation of new curriculum
  • Organizes and executes training seminars, applying critical feedback to continuously improve
  • Oversees the development of new teacher methods and materials
  • Develops integrated media approach and platform content for Music education courses and teacher training
  • Integrates concert activities into the curriculum in cooperation with other stakeholders
  • Identifies Key Yamaha teachers to mentor and develops as Education Specialists
  • Briefs internal staff key differentiators of the Yamaha Music School educational experience

  • Music Technology: Use technology to create, edit, and publish music.

Qualifications
Ideal
  • Demonstrates success teaching music in group and individual lesson formats
  • Demonstrates experience presenting complex information in large group formats
  • Experience organizing and leading music clinics and workshops for teachers
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Experience creating / adapting curriculum to accommodate and maximize new developments in musical instruments and music production technology
  • Experience using online learning and education technology
  • Proficient in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint) and e-learning software
  • Available to travel up to 25%
Preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Yamaha Method
  • Experience with Yamaha digital keyboards, particularly the Clavinova

Compensation
  • Up to $95,500.00 per year
  • The posted compensation is the base pay. This is the hiring range and does not include bonus potential or the value of benefits. The hiring range does not reflect total earning potential over time.
  • Final offers within the posted compensation range are based on qualifications, skills and experience required for the role.
