This role would sit within the UK Communications team, which is part of the wider EU and Global comms teams. It is a fast paced environment, high-performing and the team supports colleagues across multiple markets.
Key areas of ownership:
- Development of market specific PR & Comms strategies at both a UK and European level
- PR & Comms counsel for local music leadership in country and across the EU
- Execution of on-the-ground music and creator PR initiatives with Artist Services teams
- regional support for PR teams with music campaigns
- Lead on music trends, SoundOn breakthroughs, artist development stories, local music industry relations and media
- Partnership with global music comms to ensure narrative and product launches/development lands well in market, complementing existing activity
In addition:
- In partnership with the European music ops teams, develop proactive PR campaigns to build our music narrative with key stakeholders
- Package existing success stories to enable multiple markets to amplify their own music narrative
- Deepen relationships with both consumer and music press, sharing case studies, trends and further developing the music story
- Day-to-day PR representative for TikTok to labels, managers, artists and wider rightsholders for live/active campaigns
- Manage day-to-day music press queries within core markets in partnership with local PR teams
- Management of UK/EU music assets, including case studies, artist profiles, music newsletters and image library
- Support Global Music Comms contractor as our global music narrative is revised in face of a hostile industry over the next 12 months
Supporting areas:
- In partnership with Global Music Comms:
- development of music messaging at local and regional level
- Coordination of global music moments and knowledge sharing
- Idea generation for music campaigns
- Increased integration of music within the wider TikTok consumer and entertainment narrative
- Presentation development and speaker briefings within UK and EU
Requirements
Qualifications
- Experienced communications professional at senior level (Snr Manager / Account director) within in-house or agency environment
- Experience in the tech /music space with good working knowledge of the music business and the unique challenges and opportunities TikTok faces
- Excellent communication skills and proven track record of project/campaign delivery
- Ability to work with artists, creators and their wider teams and working knowledge of the wider creator economy and monetisation models
- Ability to operate in complex environment with challenging stakeholders
- Excellent written communications skills
- Deep understanding of TikTok product and its use by artists and rightsholder communities
- Connections with trade, consumer and business media
