Summary
ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Music & Movement Instructor at the ComEd Recreation Center. Under direct supervision, the Music & Movement Instructor develops class curriculums and provides instruction to participants ages 1 – 5 years old along with parent participation.
Essential Duties
  • Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Instructs scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate and effective lessons o Ability to prepare detailed lesson plans and activities for 30-minute class period
  • Lead the instruction of dance participants, according to the approved lesson plan, in a fun environment while teaching specific dance techniques
  • Maintain a positive, safe and nurturing environment
  • Ensures that safety standards are met, and department and facility policies are adhered to o Provide positive and professional communication with customers
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during classes and performances, and report any problems, unsafe conditions, behavior issues and accidents to the management
  • Maintain Class log and attendance
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

WORK HOURS
Must be flexible to work different shifts including weekends, weekdays, morning, and evening shifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand and possible sit for long periods of time. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must aide or assist participants. The employee must have the endurance to complete the instruction of the assigned fitness program.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year teaching experience
  • Experience working with students ages 1 – 5
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Early childhood experience not required, but preferred
  • Ability to maintain a positive and SAFE environment for all students
  • Be able to communicate with parents
  • Have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
