We are looking to hire a Indie & Alternative Music Specialist.
Music Analyst is part of the team who works to cultivate and deliver a world of music by creating and maintaining premium playlists for every genre, mood and moment of a user’s life, and attaining product excellence using human oversight and machine.
We look for results driven, client focused and collaborative “music analysts and enthusiasts” who work collaboratively with regional music leads to assist in meeting goals or regular weekly music platform objectives specific to genres, region, type and music adoption.
Analysts will maintain and update playlists, shelves, and seasonal and ephemeral music programming initiatives on the resident music storage platform and coordinate the execution of incorporating music on new surfaces (living room, wearables, digital assistant etc).
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Attend meetings to assist in planning key music labels, events and create playlists for special occasions that leads to increased subscriber traffic, satisfaction, and stickiness.
  • Use past customer results and playlist performance statistics to make key decisions in updating and refreshing country/language specific data.
  • Discuss and create plans for key events and festivals to ensure the right playlists and music is listed based on surface / device.
  • Be responsible to keep the music assets and playlists updated and refreshed every week.

Requirements

Education background & Industry Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience specific to Music Journalism, Music Editorial, Music programming & playlist curation focusing on the genres we are recruiting for.
  • An ear for music and demonstrable experience of having been associated with projects, work or organizations, specializing in the field of music.
  • Experience in working on music projects and events with a medium to large sized team.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Radio station experience working as Music curator and / or Show host.
  • Music editorial background - Blogs, Specialty journals specific to Music.
  • OTT or streaming music background; Music content curation.
  • Music festivals curating artist lineups.
  • Working with talent agencies, management companies or record labels specifically in A&R research.
  • Digital marketing only if you were researching trends in Music.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and general troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent data management and analytical skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of music streaming & playlist curation service.
  • Analysts need to have demonstrable experience in the music industry or related media and entertainment industry of 6 months or more.
