Overview /Objective
The NFL Films Business Affairs team is seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual for a full-time position to manage the rights and clearances department. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in production rights and clearances and managing a team.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee third party rights and clearances work for NFL Films, including researching contacts, obtaining clearance license agreements (including Guild and reuse payments) from rights holders, and screening cuts for clearance issues.
  • Oversee team of rights & clearance coordinators.
  • Collaborate with Footage Research team to create best practices for clearance processes.
  • Work with producers and creatives on footage requests, and field queries from producers and other internal stakeholders regarding clearance statuses and issues across all projects.
  • Track rights and obligations for all third-party elements used in Films programming, including talent and music.
  • Work closely with Manager of Business Affairs to create and implement efficient work practices.
  • Oversee training and development of new hires and interns.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rights and clearances with production or media company
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and set priorities for team.
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solver with an ability to evaluate and analyze complicated problems.
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
FSLA Exempt NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
Salary
$80,000 — $92,500 USD
