We are seeking a qualified Manager to join our Member Operations team, supporting our goal to drive value to our partnerships, support independents and maximize the value of Merlin.
Are you a digital music operations superstar looking for an opportunity to work directly with the world’s leading independent labels, distributors and digital partners? The successful candidate will have a strong demonstrable background in digital supply chain, metadata and rights management tools and how digital services, labels and distributors partner and integrate.
POSITION STATUS, LOCATION, AND REPORTING This is a full time role based in London preferably, with the possibility to discuss a remote location for the right candidate. This role will report directly to the Director, Member Operations and sits within Merlin’s Member & Partner Success team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deepen relationships with members, particularly as it relates to providing support and communicating processes around partner integrations, content policies and deliveries, and rights management tools.
  • Maintain a commercial and strategic outlook as it relates to Merlin’s partnerships, leading collaborations with digital partners and managing day-to-day support and trouble-shooting issues for independent labels and distributors.
  • Actively contribute to and even lead Merlin meetings with members and with digital partners, learning about the needs of each, staying atop of marketplace opportunities and contributing to the development of tools and processes that serve Merlin members’ ability to maximize the value of their Merlin partnerships.
  • Working alongside supply chain providers to ensure efficiencies and timely information exchange.
  • Organising and distributing a broad set of marketplace communications to Merlin members.
  • Assist in operationalising new agreements with DSP partners, as well as keeping operational and technical information up to date and clearly communicated to members on an ongoing basis.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organisation, in the development of new tools and processes to improve member integrations, rights management and performance with key digital partners.

Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a Digital/Content Operations role with music labels, distributors, artist services companies and/or digital music companies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a disciplined adherence to commercial awareness and confidentiality.
  • Confidence to lead discussions with digital partners and Merlin members.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment requiring both great attention to detail and working across multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with clients of all personalities.
  • Must be a team player willing to ask questions and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, integrity and work ethic.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience working with music metadata management, DDEX deliveries and DSP rights/content management tools.
  • Experience in managing projects and teams.
  • Previous experience with various partner opportunities available to Merlin members.
  • Proficiency with Merlin member dashboard and backend.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Excel/Pivot Tables, Google Forms/G Suite, Freshdesk, WebinarJam and contact management systems.
