Manager A&R
Description
- Oversee new client signing processes for all A&R deals from beginning to end including deal proposals, submissions, and entries.
- Manage, draft and finalize contracts, track legal agreements, and ensure that all paperwork is documents are completed accurately and timely.
- Manage A&R initiatives including artist announcements for monthly new clients, scheduling client calls, arranging meetings between artists, producers and A&R team to discuss music projects, demos and contracts.
- Manage demo submission from new and established artists to ensure they are properly filed and reviewed by the A&R department.
- Developing and managing artists by collaborating with songwriters and producers, selecting songs for the artist to record, and providing feedback on performances.
- Act as a primary point of contact for artist prospects by managing inbox for all client inquiries,while building and maintaining new and current relationships.
- Work closely across all A&R teams along with various departments for updates on metrics and deal statuses, new artist signings, client inquiries and requests and ensuring process efficiency.
- May conduct research on the latest industry trends, emerging artists, and potential collaborations to keep the A&R department up-to-date.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field
- 3+ years of related experience in A&R and proven experience in A&R and/or talent scouting
- Experience and strong knowledge of music industry, genre, and trends
- Ability to evaluate the commercial viability of an artist or project, understand financial and legal aspects of the music industry, and make informed business decisions
- Ability to identify potential hits and recognize emerging trends in the music industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize with the appropriate sense of urgency
- Ability to work with different systems
- Ability to communicate with staff of all levels and cultivate relationships with industry professionals
- Passion for music preferred
- Legal experience preferred
