Fast Friends is excited to welcome a Finance & Business Affairs Assistant to work with our team across multiple aspects of the business including sound recording and publishing rights, talent management, live events and more. This is a unique opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the music industry and how the different sectors fit together. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Depending on experience level, you will be provided with sufficient training to be able to develop the skills needed to:
  • Prepare royalty accounting and budgets and track budgets for our record label
  • Perform general bookkeeping tasks including raising invoices and chasing overdue invoices
  • Track client income and management commissions due
  • Prepare reports, presentations and spreadsheets as instructed
  • Review and mark-up a wide range of legal documents and assist the drafting of legal documents. Documents you will work across will include: deal memos, songwriter agreements, producer agreements, featured artist agreements, creative and visual asset agreements, sample clearances, synchronization agreements
  • Co-ordinate the signature of contracts
  • File documents (digitally) and update our contract tracking database
  • Correspond with external teams and our management clients to assist with the day-to-day scheduling for our management clients

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in a position that has allowed you to demonstrate the responsibilities identified above, preferably in the music or entertainment industry OR posses a finance/accounting/law related degree, ideally with a 2:1 or above
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Google Calendars, AirTable, Dropbox, Curve (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience working with spreadsheets including composing and editing formulas
  • Basic understanding of music industry contracts
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing agreements and spreadsheets
  • Track record of multitasking many ongoing projects with meticulous attention to detail and excellent follow through.
  • Happy to work remotely/independently as well as within a team/office environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Passionate about music and the music industry

Benefits & Perks

This is a part-time position offering £12.50 per hour. The role requires up to 3 days of work per week (24 hours) with opportunity for this to grow into a full-time position. We are open to discussion about the flexible delivery of these hours with the successful candidate.
