Director, Artist Relations

Who We're Looking For
A results-driven, Director of Artist Relations with demonstrated success in securing celebrity guests/performers for special events or panels, and talent management experience in the live television and corporate events space, with experience directing and supporting event teams and staff. Must be proficient in database management, tracking of activities and event execution. In addition to managing and developing relationships with A-list, established, and emerging artists, their representatives, and key members of their teams, the Director will provide strategic direction and guidance to the Artist Relations team as well as the rest of the company.
What You'll Do
- Support and execute efforts to engage talent across the Recording Academy and its affiliates, review of and support of related KPIs, and aid with special projects and events, as required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cultivate new artist relationships.
- Collaborate with AR stakeholders on strategic planning, systems review, evaluation of outreach and streamlining of efforts for the Academy and its affiliates.
- Engage talent for performance/appearance/spokesperson and other bookings for our respective organizations.
- In partnership with VP, manage annual showcases series and meet and greets.
- Provide talent for in house events for President/CEO, People & Culture
- Streamline talent operations and efficiencies.
- Act as liaison to artist community
- Serve as escort to all artists visiting national office and handle meetings coordination with key stakeholders.
- Provide production support for in-house performances, including stage management, technical coordination, and logistics.
- Manage/track artist database and prepare various project ‘decks.’
- Stay informed about industry trends, music business developments, and key industry dates, and utilize this knowledge to inform talent engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on strategic planning, systems review, evaluation of outreach, and streamlining efforts to optimize talent engagement across the organization.
- Support special projects, such as advocacy outreach, marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and fundraising auctions, as needed.
- Other duties may include and not be limited to:
- Respond to external inquiries and requests.
- Contribute to protocol/policy setting or other to ensure the efficient flow of information.
- Provide essential recaps, data analysis, and graphical presentations, maintaining accurate records and databases.
- Respond to external inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner, representing the organization's values and mission.
- Delegate tasks and assignments, ensuring workload distribution and alignment with priorities and deadlines.
- Provide training and support, ensuring the company has the necessary skills and resources to carry out initiatives.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of events and artist relations/talent producer experience
- Proven leadership skills with experience in team management, mentorship, and strategic planning.
- Strong industry network and relationships with artists, agents, and talent agencies.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a track record of managing complex projects and events.
- Proficiency in various software programs and databases for talent tracking and management.
- In-depth understanding of the music business, industry trends, and evolving talent landscape.
- Exceptional presentation, writing, and analytical skills.
- High emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate high-pressure environments and problem-solve effectively.
