SoundCloud is looking for a Corporate Development Manager.
As a member of SoundCloud's Corporate Development team, you will collaborate across our organization — with Finance, Product, Legal, BD, Data Science, and business unit leaders — to identify and evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities that accelerate our strategy. You will deeply understand the nuances of SoundCloud's positioning and opportunities, and provide the team with the insight needed to drive intelligent, sound decision-making. With an appetite for challenge and a growth mindset, you will bring strong quantitative and communication skills, strategic thinking, and sound business judgment to bear in order to think beyond the constraints of today and help grow the SoundCloud of tomorrow.
The Corporate Development team drives SoundCloud's growth strategies by identifying and executing on transformative acquisition and strategic investment opportunities across existing and future markets. Consisting of experienced merger-and-acquisition, strategy, and investment professionals, we're dedicated to unlocking step-function changes to accelerate SoundCloud's strategy. We drive target identification, lead business diligence and negotiations, and help run post-acquisition integration and performance evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, vet, and value strategic investment opportunities.
- Synthesize SoundCloud's strategic objectives and industry trends, in order to identify, recommend, and execute opportunities that maximize SoundCloud's value
- Identify and educate internal executives on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential-return investments
- Support management team decisions and interface with cross functional teams including product, engineering, marketing, finance, and legal teams.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in venture capital, management consulting, investment, strategy or corporate development roles at consumer internet or media companies
- Fluent in Excel / Google Sheets and PowerPoint / Google Slides
- Excellent project management skills, communication skills, business judgment, and work ethic
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Able to work effectively under urgency
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA
- Experience in corporate finance - building financial models and valuing companies
- Experience building pitch decks and investor relations materials
- Experienced and resourceful in gathering market intelligence and research
- Knowledge of products built around digital media business models - ads, subscription, licensing
Benefits & Perks
The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
