The Role
To play an integral role in the Editorial team – writing, editing and commissioning content for M Magazine and supporting the planning and production of mixed media content across wider PRS channels.
The role holder will provide a copywriting and proof-reading resource for the wider Marketing and Communications department where required, and act as a guardian for the company Tone of Voice across external communications.
The Team
Made up of more than 20 creative minds, the Communications and Public Affairs team works to shape PRS for Music's voice, image and reputation through external communications and marketing. With sub-teams that include PR, digital, events, editorial, social and design, the comms team plays a vital role in developing marketing strategies, building relationships with music creators and the wider industry and promoting the value of PRS on a global stage.
Responsibilities
As our Content Editor, some of your day to day duties will include….
  • Day-to-day operation of M Magazine – writing news and features, conducting interviews and working with a pool of freelance writers
  • Assisting in the implementation of PRS for Music’s editorial strategy
  • Identifying new trends and topics to cover, regularly pitching ideas for content across M and wider PRS channels
  • Owning M Magazine reporting and analytics to encourage data-driven decision making
  • Assisting with the planning and production of video content
  • Acting as a brand champion to ensure communications adhere to tone of voice and style guidelines and carrying out regular TOV workshop
  • Representing PRS at industry events

  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and a natural aptitude for writing clear and concise content for a variety of audiences
  • Extensive experience in content creation, commissioning and editing, across multiple formats
  • Knowledge of and passion for the music industry and current trends in content creation and distribution
  • Proven experience in writing for SEO
  • We know that the world isn’t always ideal, so please don’t rule yourself out if you have other qualities to bring to the party.
The Process
Our interview process for this role is simple and as follows:
  • First stage interview virtually.
  • Second stage interview in person at our London Bridge Hub.
Location
We offer a hybrid working model – allowing employees to work from home for three days a week – but encourage employees to work from our London Bridge hub.
