Job Summary:
Come join IGN as a Commercial Insight Manager whose responsibility is to manage the insights and data that supports IGN Entertainment’s commercial work.
This includes, but is not limited to, working with sales and strategy teams in pre-sale to provide data to support statements we want to make and/or creative recommendations, working with client service managers in post-sale to run research using third party vendors as well as our internal brand measurement and survey tools, primarily IGN VIP. This role is also responsible for pulling performance data of branded content for client reporting, as well as looking at aggregated data to provide internal teams with feedback and recommendations for future activity. We are looking for someone who thinks analytically and can use data to help teams make decisions and craft a narrative.
This role sits within the global creative solutions team which has staff in LA, New York, London and Sydney and will work alongside multiple teams (such as sales, and metrics) from each location on a daily basis. The creative solutions team is responsible for helping to ideate, visualize, and execute, ideas for all of IGN Entertainment’s advertisers interested in custom campaigns. Custom campaigns can include any combination of bespoke ad design, branded content, content sponsorship, digital and physical events, and product launches that run across multiple platforms including IGN.com as well as its social profiles such as X/Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This role familiarizes themselves with the campaign, helps set up surveys, tracks feedback, supports amplification and distills the campaign’s performance data down for sales and their clients to easily digest.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have been responsible for using data and research to make recommendations, and put it into digestible formats (primarily presentation) for people with varying degrees of familiarity with data and research to understand.
Key Responsibilities
  • Pulling data from our analytics tools (comScore, Google Analytics, social platforms, proprietary research) to use in decks and form sales arguments
  • Maintain - and make recommendations from - a database of custom content performance
  • Being the expert in IGN’s products, story, audience, and content and using that knowledge to ensure what data and research we’re putting in front of clients tells a holistic and all-encompassing narrative
  • Staying on top of industry and market trends. Then, sharing that information back to the wider creative solutions and sales teams who will use this information to shape the collateral that IGN is using and making in market
  • Working with third party vendors (such as Nielsen, Comscore, Dynata, Skopos and Kantar) as well as using IGN’s internal research tool, IGN VIP, to run campaign efficacy studies
  • Management of IGN VIP globally, which includes working with the engineering team to develop new features for it, growing the audience panel size, and aggregating study results to provide benchmarks for consistent metrics like uplift in brand recognition and purchase intent
  • Using IGN VIP to run market research studies for both internal and external parties
  • Working with internal and external teams to submit campaigns for industry awards
  • Help support with various campaign amplification and reporting initiatives as needed
  • Provide routine insight reports to creative production team members to accurately assess success across branded campaigns, and areas of improvement for going forward as determined by content performance metrics
  • Working with the design team to help setup custom tracking for sponsored microsites, and review the performance data from them

Requirements

Job Qualifications
  • Passion for IGN, its content and its subject matter
  • Proven experience working effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Great organizational skills
  • 4+ years in a in a research/ data-focused role
  • Experience pulling data, interpreting it, and using it in written communication for people with varying levels of familiarity with data and research
  • Strong written skills, specifically experience writing questions for surveys, with an understanding of the nuance that goes into the specifics of phrasing
  • Experience using PowerPoint and Google Slides
  • Strong desire to evaluate, optimize, and implement change as driven by data
  • Experience working with global teams
  • A background in commercial support, or brand lift/ campaign efficacy studies specifically
  • Experience working with gaming IP and entertainment IP from a digital media perspective
Work Environment:
  • Work Schedule: There is no expectation for this role to work weekends, holidays, or odd hours.
  • Travel Requirements: No travel is required for this role.
  • Physical Requirements: This role involves standard office-based activities, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer.
  • Work Model: There is a requirement for this role to work a hybrid schedule, going into our Mansell Street office at least 1 time each week.
