About ABC Entertainment & Specialist
The Entertainment & Specialist team brings together the ABC’s drama, comedy, Indigenous, music, children’s, entertainment and factual content across television, radio and digital products and services, such as iView, ABC listen and associated websites, apps and podcasts. The team includes the specialist genres of arts, science, education, religion and ethics. Entertainment & Specialist develops, produces, acquires and distributes Australian stories across ABC TV, ABC Kids, ABC ME the national networks of ABC Radio, ABC online and audio and video apps, to inform, educate and entertain all Australians.

About The Role
ABC Entertainment & Specialist is seeking an Audio Engineer to deliver recording and mixing skills to a range of programs and projects across the Audio/Radio Operations group for broadcast and online.
Reporting to the Supervisor Audio Radio Operations NSW, you will:
Provide operational support to programs for live to air transmissions, pre-recorded programs, outside recordings and broadcasting live music.
Monitor and address operational and transmission problems, providing creative solutions and recommending improvements to workflows.
Record and mix complex audio for studio, field and music, studio and field productions using a range of audio production tools, software and sound design skills.
Liaise with producers and content teams in planning and coordinating productions providing a creative contribution through sound design and work effectively to tight deadlines.

Requirements

About You
We are looking for an Audio Engineer with advanced knowledge of audio and radio production processes and technologies with demonstrated ability in using relevant online technologies, systems and equipment. Your skills and experience will include;
High level understanding of radio broadcast network arrangements and proven ability to adapt to new technology.
Experience in planning and prioritising projects and tasks, delivering with a high attention to detail while working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Strong computer literacy skills with a highly advanced knowledge of computer-based systems for broadcasting and audio editing.
Advanced editing and creative mixing skills for broadcast and podcast programs.
Knowledge and experience in the setup of studio and outside broadcasts & recordings, including WHS standards and safe manual handling procedures.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with a diverse range of people.
