About the job
The Assistant Producer is a reliable and conscientious person that with a keen eye for detail, supports the creation and delivery of all content-based promos and AV focused mini campaigns within a specific Sky area (Ents, Sports, Cinema, Store, News, TV Products or NOW) along with the Promo Producer. They are the closest person to the project’s finest details, from technical specs to content collection.
What you'll do:
  • You are the Promo Producer’s right-hand person: you will assist them in every step of every project – from pre-production to archiving.
  • Central point of contact for all communication within Sky Creative and external suppliers.
  • Gather all content as soon as it is confirmed in the briefs, understanding correct specs and formats.
  • Lead the communication with production companies when content needs to be gathered outside of Sky.
  • Distribute materials & information in a timely & effective manner, summarizes all project information in clear kick-offs addressed to Promo Creatives.
  • Sets up all promo projects in Curator (Sky Creative’s editing platform).
  • Supports Creatives in all stages of production; gets IT support involved in case of technical issues, foresees possible complications and raises them to the PM, ensures WIPs files are shared timely and saved in the correct location.
  • Plans and books post production resources (audio/VO/grade), integrates promo timings with pencil or booking information and provides the correct information for billing.
  • Raise POs for confirmed services of external suppliers and log relevant information on financial trackers.
  • QC throughout the process and understands everything about their brands. Keeps abreast of all updates and changes required.
  • Run the compliance process: typically, across internal Sky Compliance team and Clearcast (external).
  • Make sure information about the music used is tracked and, when commercial, checks the tracks have been cleared (through Soundmouse clearance form).
  • Manage the delivery of promos: checks all broadcast requirements are fully met, involves mastering when necessary and updates delivery documentation.
  • Manage the delivery of re-carts.
  • Takes care of precise archiving of finished projects – they are not done until they are properly stored for future research/access.
  • Collects final viewing copies of completed promos to circulate internally.
  • Help other promo production teams outside their own channels as/when required.

  • Highly organised, manages time, prioritises effectively, easily able to demonstrate successful multi-project involvement and ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Propensity in taking pride in every project done, cares about the detail and is extremely accurate in following the process and in QC’ing work. Has evidence of doing this.
  • Solution focused and can-do attitude, helpful and approachable. Never disheartened by big or small tasks.
  • Flexibility: ability to assess and respond to requests quickly and efficiently whilst managing deadlines.
  • Great interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of contacts, starting from their own team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven track record of managing budgets and writing reports and enjoys the detail that brings.
  • Ability to brief and manage projects at various stages of sign-off, both internal and external.

  • A hands-on team player and people motivator with proven ability to lead by example and get the best out of individuals and a team.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and solution-orientated approach with the ability to work calmly under pressure on multiple priorities and has example of working like this.
  • Experience in the Promo Production process is extremely desirable.
