Somethin’ Else and Sony Music Entertainment are industry leaders in producing premium, high quality podcasts that audiences love. Somethin’ Else is Sony’s in-house podcast unit with offices in London, New York and LA. We are looking for an Assistant Producer to work with the fast-growing factual narrative podcast team in London.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of what it takes to produce premium long-form narrative podcasts for a global audience. A passion for storytelling, knack for finding untold stories, a can-do and collaborative mindset are all musts. Working as part of a team, you would grow your skills and build your career in a fast-paced, supportive, hyper-creative audio environment. This is a unique opportunity to create content for our many successful feeds such as Power, This Is History and much more.
The role is full-time and involves hybrid working, with some days in our vibrant Shoreditch office and some days working from home.
What you'll do:
- Work alongside journalists, presenters, producers and executives in the production of factual narrative content.
- Help produce factual podcasts for brands.
- Source contributors, conduct research calls, draft scripts and edit audio.
- Pitch ideas and engage in internal and external commissioning processes.
- Work with PR and Marketing teams to promote podcasts.
Requirements
Who you are:
- You have worked on narrative documentary style shows and/or serialised productions.
- You embrace creativity, aim high and push boundaries.
- You have a track-record of uncovering and researching great stories.
- You have great organisational skills and experience of keeping to schedules.
- You have experience with commissioning processes.
- You are willing and excited to support the team as needed.
