A&R / Client Services Coordinator
Description
- Identify and evaluate new artists and labels as potential clients of our global distribution business
- Responsible for lead generation via existing contacts, networking and prospecting
- Develop and manage relationships with artists, managers, attorneys and industry professionals
- Represent and champion Downtown Music Services in the region, including within personal network as well as at local conferences and events
- Review and provide feedback on potential releases
- Keep abreast of current industry trends and emerging artists
- Manage day-to-day relationships with key clients on an ongoing basis per client preference (text, calls, emails, etc.)
- Work with our Content Operations team to ingest new content into our system
- Manage digital catalog/ assets for select artists
- Be able to download files, create metadata spreadsheets, and do quality control checks
- Possess a firm understanding of the Apple Music Style Guide and strive to ensure all key account submissions adhere to its requirements
- Proactively engage with key accounts to build relationships and add value to artist campaigns and strengthen retention
- Assist with the coordination of promotional opportunities for new releases, including securing required assets and meeting all necessary deadlines as they arise
- Actively engage with strategic projects and priorities that serve to increase visibility for DMS artists (whether individual or catalog-wide), maintain or earn a competitive advantage in the industry, and/or attract high profile clients to the Downtown family of brands
- Assist and collaborate with other departments when needed
- Flexibility in work hours – must be open to work non-standard schedule to attend trade shows, industry events, and to generally meet the needs of artist and their releases
- Some travel may be required
Requirements
- Based in London
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of music industry experience ( in one or more of the following environments preferred: streaming service, distributor, record label, artist management, music PR, booking agency)
- Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in Mac / Microsoft Office programs, with some HTML/XML experience
- Excellent communication skills, both in a B2B and B2C environment
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and extremely motivated
- Ability to self-manage and multi-task workload in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Proactive and positive approach with the ability initiate tasks and follow through to completion
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building relationships
- Outstanding analytical skills
- Diligence in managing a range of clients with excellent follow-through
- Robust and ongoing understanding of the music industry, including key trends affecting DMS as well as its digital partners
- Positive, level-headed attitude with excellent time and stress management
