Who we are
Stern Grove Festival (SGF or The Festival) is a beloved Bay-Area institution. It is one of the oldest and
largest free music festivals in the country. Celebrating its 86 th year in 2023, The Festival’s mission is to make live musical experiences accessible to all. It does that through its ten-week summer Sunday concert series.
These shows take place in a 10,000-person outdoor amphitheater in Sigmund Stern Grove on San Francisco’s west side. The Festival aims to present a diverse lineup every year, featuring national touring headlining acts, as well as artists from the rich Bay Area musical scene.
Over 70,000 people attended in 2022 and recent performers include Phil Lesh & Friends, Toro y Moi, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Thievery Corporation, Ziggy Marley, Thundercat, St. Paul and The Broken
Bones, Mitski, The San Francisco Symphony, and many others.
